One City Centre (2016)
16 Monumental Sculptures at Bangkok’s tallest Grade A+ Office Building

Sixteen pop art sculptures by Arnaud Nazare-Aga have taken over One City Centre (OCC), rising 275 meters above Ploenchit Road. Developed by Raimon Land and Mitsubishi Estate, OCC was built with art in its DNA: the 4,800-square-meter green plaza was conceived from the start to house permanent installations. Today, Arnaud’s vibrant sculptures bring color, joy, and a whole lot of personality to one of Asia’s most ambitious architectural landmarks.

The installation spans three distinct areas: the outdoor plaza, the 1st floor retail podium, and the 2nd floor.

Outside, three sculptures float directly on OCC’s reflecting pools: the Whale’Pop “Willy” (XXL), the Sitting Bear “Splash” (XXL), and the Lazy Bear “No Blues” (XXL) — each mounted on concealed steel structures beneath the water’s surface. The effect is striking: monumental pop art appearing to rest on water, framed by terraced gardens and the tower’s glass facade. Nearby, the Hippop’Art “Monstera” (XXL), with its bold leaf-pattern design in vivid greens and rainbow tones, greets visitors from a lush planter of cascading ferns.

Step inside to the 1st floor, the Sumo Shiko “Sumorai” (XL), a 1.5-meter sumo balancing on one leg, painted in bold stripes and sweeping curves, Two Sumo Totems, “Victory Red” with its dramatic Japanese wave and koi fish patterns, and “Light Of Ocean” in cool blues and greens, a Lazy Bear “Robin” (XXL), and a Hippop’Art “Floro Red” (XXL) nestled into fern planters, paint the 1st floor of OCC, at the entrance of Hanuman Sky Bar with vivid and bright colors.

The 2nd floor brings the full Hippop’Art family together, while an XXL Dancing Bear “B’Nice” colors the bridge between the offices and restaurants, balanced on one leg. The Sitting Bear “Royal B” (XXL) sits quietly among plants. And across the floor, five Hippop’Art hippos of varying sizes create a scene that feels like a herd grazing through the building: Alegria (XXL and S), Circus (XL and M+), and Monstera (M) spread across grass platforms, from the monumental to the intimate.

Every sculpture was created at PAJ’Art Studio in Bangkok, Arnaud’s 1,200-square-meter workshop. Displayed at One CIty Center and some at L’Envol Art Space, they are all available at L’Envol Art Space or online. We ship Worldwide
